News from the trenches…..
CABarettes Club, Blue Ridge Region has 4 new members. Linda Bostock,
the club President says this how they did it:
"The recruitment drive started with a change in meeting place due to
the closing of a government building we were meeting in. I was able to
secure a conference room at my job, Howard University Hospital.
Next, I thought we need to change the time to capture people right
after work. Most offices close at 5:00 so we set our meeting time for
5:30, realizing we couldn’t just push patients out so we could meet.
(Smile) Nor did I want to lose potential members by having a meeting
much later than they completed work.
Then I just invited co-workers to a meeting with light refreshments
(since they worked all day) and we conducted a regular meeting, giving
brief explanations as we went along and had handouts they could read
later and the rest is history.
We are planning our speech contest here also, inviting some managers
and directors to help in judging, our motive of course would be more
members."
That’s real renewing and reviving. Well done CABarettes.
